Friday Finds

In honor of October being  Breast Cancer Awareness month, today's finds are all going to be in shades of pink to honor all those boobies out there! I read a saying the other day and I chuckled a bit, but it's so true

BIG OR SMALL LETS SAVE THEM ALL!

Pinned Image

Ladies I plead to you all to get yourself checked, if you've already had a regular exam be sure you keep up with the next appointment just because one visit is good does not mean the next will be and if you have never been checked, run don't walk run to the phone now and schedule your appointment. It's easy, painless and well worth the trouble. If you've ever been touched by someone you know whom has suffered this terrible disease you know the importance. Take care of them boobies girls!

And without further adieu my precious pink inspirational finds:

Mind Your Mummy Flying Unicorn Challenge

I had so much fun playing with the G45 Le Cique collection the other day that I thought I'd give the G45 Domestic Goddess collection a shot, paired with a little Le Cirque to create my page for Flying UNicorn's "Mind Your Mummy" challenge.

Not Just A Wife And Mom, But A Domestic Goddess

This is a photo of from this past July, kinda just a fun layout! The twist with this challenge was to use gauze (I used cheesecloth, which was determined an ok replacment) I like the page, but not real pleased how the writing on the photo came out.....I hate when you feel like you ruin a layout....The paper's are Le Cirque and Domestic Goddess both Graphic 45 collections.

Here you can see how I distressed the edges and fussy cut my rose...yes once again from fabric! You may also notice that the soily is cream colored.....just some steeped tea and a paint brush.....this gives your doily an antiquey look and feel.

More flowers and you can also see how I placed the cheesecloth delicately behind the blooms. You can also
see the delicate lace peeking though just a hint, I have definately been obcessed with very victorian looking layouts lately with all the lace and roses, I just cannot seem to get enough!

Here is the title I cut froim the Domestic Goddess collection, I used a pop dot to give it a raised dimensional look. YOu may have noticed I also did this with the border frame around the layout.

A close up of my pretty lil bow! You can also see here the pennant bottom I gave the black patterned paper, another obcession of mine lately!

Lastly but not least I added a key from the Bo Bunny Timepiece collection and just used a bit of ink on a sponge to grunge it up a bit, I finished it off with a lil ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed my page, thanks for stopping by!

Some G45 To Share With You Today

Good Morning, hope everyone is having a good week so far I can't believe it's already Wednesday.....no wait, scratch that.....how the heck did October make it's way to the calender already???? I hope everyone is faring the changing weather alright, we have been having record high here.....unusually hot for this time of year......I kinda don't mind though it's kinda like having your cake and eating it to with all the beautifulness of the changing falling leaves minus the cold....what could be better?

But you didn't stop by to listen to me ramble on about the calender and the weather though so with, so without further adieu on to the layout I wanna share with you guys!

Never A Dull Moment With 5 Kids......

Well what do you think?

I had so much fun ctreating this, I actually usually find G45 papers intimidating to work with......I love the way they look and I hoard almost every collection, but I never really know what to do with it. Lets just say I'm cured!!!!

I used the Le Cirque Graphic 45 collection.....if your not familiar with it, you must check it out!

The photo is of my 5 kiddos, tough job somedays to be a mommy of 5 but I wouldn't have it any other way. See deatils and close ups below.

You can see some of the edges here, I distressed every sheet of paper using the sciisors distresing method. This gives the pape a grungy, textured, dimensional look.

Here you can see some of the signs from the Le Cirque collestion, I fold the top corners a bit to give it more dimension.

Ok everyone has went head over heels gaga for my music ribbon everywhere I have posted this layout, so I thought I would share where I got it. It' left over from Christmas yep....I found it clearanced after Christmas, it had red and tan gingham strips on both sides and I just trimmed them off....and presto.....music printed ribbon!

A close up of the blooms, I made the rose and the daisey, the grey I bought a while back, but unfortunately I forgot the brand...sorry about that, I seem to have a bad habbit about this.....

Here you can see more distressed edges and the pennant bottoms on my patterned paper strips. I thought cutting the papers this way would give my layout a more whimsical feel.

This cute lil gal is fussy cut from the Le Cirque collection, I just love her!

Last but not least, the Le Cirque title, all I can say is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!! I just love this title, the whole collection is just fabulous!

I hope you enjoyed my page and all the yummy details!
Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to your comments!

My Last Sassy Lil Sketches Reveal Day

Today is my last reveal day for Sassy Lil Sketches!!!!

Due to busy schedules Katie and Cherie have officially decided that Sassy Lil Sketches will be shut down at the end of October. I am so sad over the news but completely understand!

So without further adieu here is my final sketch with them:

Here is my take on this beautiful sketch:

Ok ya'll I am so proud of this page, it came out so beautiful in my opinion.....no biased feelings towards it I swear lol! You will never guess where I got my inspiration from for this LO........

Ok I'm corny I admit it but I like the movie Marie Antoinette and the inspo came straight from this movie! Here's a clip image:
Image Detail
I couldn't find an image of the actual room on the movie that gave me the real inspo. But the colors here give you an idea.

All of the flowers are handmade, you can see the cream colored one I distressed which is an all out time consuming chore. The center pieces I found at Joanne's clearance section for like .50 per 3 pack.

Title reads: Home Is When We Are Together, I definately feel that way with my Husbadn.....no matter where we are are what we are doing as long as he is near me I feel like home. I found the alphas off the $1 rack at Joanns a long time ago......

Here you can see a close up of my stitching and distressing

I did some lacing here and stuck my journaling spot tucked in the pocket behind it.

Some lace and more stitching details shown here.

I hope you enjoyed my page and I look forward to your comments!

Bee Happy Layout

I have another fun layout I wanna share with you today. It's nothing fancy I just had a spare 45 minutes while my youngest daughter decided she needed to sleep in.....believe me she's quite good at that....lol.

My inspiration for this layout came from this photo I took this past summer at the local zoo! Beeeeautiful isn't it!

Bet you can't guess who the photo is.....if you follow my work you know by now that my oldest daughter has a passion for photography....no not taking pictures or looking at beautiful photos....nope she likes the pictures to be taken of her, lol.

I believe the background paper is October Afternoon and I will be heading to my LSS for some more for sure...so many possibilities! You can see I  distressed the edges of this layout using the scissor method, I just love the look this creates! I used a template and traced a circle on my paper so I would get an even circle before I stitched.  See details and close ups below.

I used a K&CO bee and just used my black pen to create the little trail behind it, you can also see a portion of the title.....I stamped it and cut them out.....I'm not sharing close up of these...unfortunately I'm not the best stamped and the close ups arent that great, lol.....but I'm practicing....hope to get better real soon!

Here you can see the beautiful layers of lace and border punches. I used an EK Sucess punch here by the way. The delicate green lace is just a scarp I found in a bag of goodies I purchased from the thrift store. The flowers are all hand punched using a few sizes of the Marvy Uchida daisey punch.

More border punches, lace and flowers. I also added a bow using generic ribbon and a yummy pearl bling center piece.

Here you can see a close up of the papers I used for layering, I also distressed these so thay would match the background paper.

I hope you enjoyed my layout and I love your comments!
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!

ScrapFIT Reveal Day

Ok ladies I am so stoked for this reveal.....I have sorta branched out in my style....I don't wanna seem inconsistant but I just have been itching to try new things lately with my crafts! So fear not my dominant style is still shabby chic pretty but once in a while you may catch a lo in my gallery that is lil outta sorts for me!

Anyway on to the reveal which is wat you really are here to check out right?!?!?!

This week our ScrapFIT workout challenge was "journal goes round"

Here is my take on this weeks workout:

This photo is actually from 2007 when we first moved to town, we were checking out the local zoo. I thought this would make a great photo, I wish there wasn't dark spots tho. This is all my babies except for my youngest which was a baby then. Check details and close ups below.

Can you see the white journaling around the orange paper? Lets see if I can remember what brand all the paper is......the teal and white polka dot came from an old MME collection, the plaided multi color paper is Sassafrass Lass, sorry I'm not sure what the yellow paper is and the orange is believe it or not left over from a zoo page I made back in 2006.....soo I have no idea the brand, lol. I used the scissors distressing technique around the edges of everything to match the edges of the background paper. The clouds are G Studios and are actually see through so I cut white paper for behind them.

The banner was really easy to make, I didnt even measure some quick eyeballing cuts and presto! I topped them off with a hemp bow!

The #'s are to represent the ammount of kiddos in the photo and are from an older DCWV line.

You can see the stiching up close here, again this doesn't take long at all! I used a Martha Stewart punch and the orange scalloped paper is actually the bottom part from the plaided Sassafras Lass paper ...I just cut it off and added the white dots. The flowers are hand punches and topped off with buttons. The journal spot is Bella Blvd and the Love title is cut using my Cricut!

Well thats about it ladies, thanks for stopping by I hope you enjoyed!
I love your dear comments!

ALSO BE SURE YOU STOP BY AND SEE WHAT THE OTHER AMAZING DESIGNERS DID AS WELL!
