Once Upon A Sketch

I am really really enjoying having the free time to participate in scrappy challenges lately! One of my FAVS is the bi weekly sketch challenges over at
Nadia's sketches are always so beautiful and so wonderful to work with, I have some very pretty pages that I can credit to her sketches!

This week's challenge called for us to journal about the men in our lives that we love, so I decided to do a page about my 3 favorite boys in the whole wide world! My Husband and 2 Sons!

LOVE MY GUYS
These are my guys! My Lil Country Bumpkins! I love em so so much!

I used Glitz Design's Vintage Blue for this page with some Colorbok scrap pieces for the accent papers.
The doily is an old crochet'd one I found some place or another a while back, lol. This is one of the first pages I've done in a while that I didn't distress, I thought it might take away from the double stitching I did around the edges.

I used a Bazzil Stitch Template to create the fancy stitch work, then I added the rest of the box by drawing my own template on the back side using a ruler to close the design in.

The twine flower is handmade and I've had a few people ask about it. If you guys are interested let me know and I will try to post a tutorial soon on how to make these, they really are super simple.

My title!!

Hope you guys enjoyed it, thanks for stopping by and taking a looksie, sorry it's so short, but my to do list is mounting as we speak, lol!!

Scrap Your Crap Reveal Day

I have another reveal for you today!

Scrap Your Crap
is at it again helping you to use up all that supplies you have just hoarded away in your craft rooms....come on you know you do, lol we all do! I was thinking about this the other day...and you know I've yet to meet a scrapper that has not/ does not hoard her supplies....

This week Scrap Your Crap is helping you resolve this issue, by challenging you to create a project useing at least 3 stamps!!

Let me tell you, I thought this challenge was tailor made for me, lol....
I love stamps, I buy stamps all the time, I love looking at my stamps and thinking about using them.....and then.....NOTHING!!! I never use them! I have gotten quite a collection, what a great prompt to help me use them!!

Without further adieu here is what I came up with for this challenge:

I created a friends anniversary card using this challenge.
I used G45's Once Upon A Springtime combined with some mis stamps I have lying around in my stash...sorry unsure of the brand....
Obviously the sentiment is stamped, I also stamped the flowers and leaves and cut them out for a more dramatic look.
I took a cutip with a lil Antique Rose ink and brushed the inside of the flower lightly to make it look more highlighted and realistic.

So if you love this challenge, stop over at Scrap Your Crap and see what the other Designer's created for inspiration and then link up your own creations for your chance to win a RAK from our sponsor!

The Ppaer Variety Reveal

New Logo

Woo Hoo, it's reveal day over at The Paper Variety!!!

This weeks challenge is so much fun! Who doesn't love photo inspiration???
If you said I do I do...then your in luck, because thats exactly what this week's challenge is!

Check out the inspirational photo

FUN FUN FUN!!!

Here is my take on this week's challenge

LUCKY
I was so inspired by the image we were given this week, and this is what I came up with! I choose to do an orange theme, because the actress's hair just jumped off the page at me, it's the first thing I see when I look at the movie image. I was also inspired by the fact that they were a couple which is why I choose to do a couple's layout (my husband and me). Lastly but not least I was inspired by the fact that the box is green, she is fair skinned and red haired.....she has the delicate look of an Irish...what do you think of when you think of Irish?? LUCK!!! And lucky we are, to have the kind of love that we share!!

So how does this image inspire you?

My Beautiful Man

I have a layout I wanna share with you today that I created for a challenge over at Flying Unicorn hosted by Shona!
She challenge us to create a project using all neutral tones with only 1 pop of color!!

Here is what I came up with, just in time for Valentines!

MY BEAUTIFUL MAN

This is a layout of my Wonderful Husband, to me he is such a Beautiful Man....inside and out... However I'm not sure he loves my choice of words, lol.....But it's how I feel, I don't know another person on this earth like him, to know him is to love him!

Again this is more paper I bought from my LSS that she did not know the brand, she did however confess she thought it might be from K&Co, but wasn't 100%, sorry.....

But you can see I did my infamous stitching and distressing combo never the less...

You see the clock above the flower.....this is from a Prima flower pakage....I just fussy cut the image out before I threw it away!

The key was just cheapie raw chipboard I purchased from Ebay, no particular brand.....I painted it white with my acrylic paint, before I inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. I then used the edge of a stamp in teal colored ink to achieve the lines which seem hard to see due to a bit of blurriness...

Here's a close up of the flower cluster, I wanted to show you the mini clock face I used for the large black flower's center.

Here's a close up of the title

Another flower cluter close up, and you can see the stitching and distressing to the left side of the layout.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look, I hope you liked it!

HAPPY VALENTINES

C'est Magnific photo 5+ Years Old Challenge

So I have another layout to share with you that I have created for the challenge over at
C'est Magnific
For this challenge we were asked to create a project that included a photo that was 5 years or older.

So since the photo had to be 5 years or older I choose this one of my oldest daughter (now almost a teen) that is exactly 5 years old.....I could have used a much older one, but I was dying to use this paper and this photo worked perfectly with the paper!!

I am so so sorry I bought this paper from my LSS a few days ago, she said she had found it in a stash at her home and did not know the brand.........anyway if any of you reconize the brand I'd love to know!

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you enjoyed my layout, be sure and stop over at C'est Magnific to play along, there challenges are alot of fun, and theres a great group of ladies over there!
