ORGANIC
In case I have not mentioned it before the July ScrapThat! Kit was my
ABSOLUTE ALLTIME FAVE!!!

Be sure to check ScrapThat!'s Blog July 24th, I have a nifty little tutorial coming up

This is a layout of my youngest lil monkey, being cheeky posing for the camera, which she loves doing by the way! I guess if photo's of myself turned out as cute as they seem to do of this lil bugger I'd love the camera as well.....but unfortunately that's not the case :/
LOL
The papers on this layout are from Fabscraps Organic Collection, which as usual are distressed using my Ingvild Bolme Distress Tool, before I layered them! I added a faux stitch around the edges using a white pen before I dry brushed some acrylic paint here and there all the way around for some added dept. This paper was go gorgeous on it's own I really didn't need to do much more!

This is my favorite part to my layout so I'm super happy to share this close up with you....the close up is of the lower left side and is full of yummy goodies from the ST July Kit.
You may notice the chipboard looks weathered and old.....I used this technique because I thought it gave my page a definate shabby chic look that I was aiming for. It was super easy really. I just gently dry brushed white acrylic paint over the chipboard (you only need a very very very small amount of paint on the tip of your paintbrush for this) Once the paint dried I inked the edges here and there with my vintage photo distress ink as well as spots here and there over the dried paint.
I layered a flower cluster sitting on top of some burlap slightly over the edge of the chipboard, before I also lightly brushed them with the white acrylic paint as well!

This is a close up of the flower cluster below the photos. They are layered over a piece of scrunched up lace as well as some scraps of burlap. I also gave each of these a light dust over with my white acrylic paints......oops and I see I missed the one on the right side of the bow....  :/
I love the way it gives everything that beautiful shabby white washed look.....kinda tones everything down and makes it look all tied together! To the right of my cluster I added some bling, which I think adds to that shabby chic look I was trying to achieve and just makes it look overall more femme!

My pages tend to be very layered and dimensional so I have been trying to photo side views of my pages so you can see all the yummy layers and goodies tucked all over!

Thanks for stopping by I hope you have enjoyed my page and are inspired to get in your own scraproom and create something beautiful!
