October Afternoon's "The Farmhouse Collection"
Sponsored By: The Paper Variety
Here's my take on this week's challenge:
This is a layout of my youngest daughter!
I choose to use yellow as my pop of color on my black and white layout because I love the way it pops off the page! The papers are Basic Grey's Out Of Print Collection paired with an older DCWV collection. I used the scissor method to grunge up the paper and the photo to give it some depth and character.
All the flowers are handmade. I used a pearl in the center of the white one's, but I wanted them black to help them tie in with my color scheme so I used a sharoie to color them. The flourish surrounding the flowers is just a generic sticker I found at Target in the dollar section.
I added a black button over the center of a bow, I added a pearl over the top of the button to tie in with the
pearls surrounding the page.
Here's a close up of the doodling I did around the layout and the pearls I added over it to top it off. You can also see the distressing, punchwork and pearls more closely here.
I used the same scissor distressing that I did onthe paper on my photo as well. I also used a white pen to doodle around the photo.....I used it with a light hand so that it didn't become a focal point and to also give it a somewhat vinatge feel.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my page and will join us for this weeks challenge over at
