My Boy

I wanna share another layout I created for Flying Unicorn using......

Authentique's Journey Collection!

Journey

This collection can be found in the Flying Unicorn Store along with much much more including some FABULOUS handmade goodies!

MY BOY

This is a layout of my youngest son, which is a total and complete Mama's boy! I absolutley adore this lil guys attachment to me, and wish he'd NEVER EVER grow up from this moment! He's the sweetest lil 7 year old I know!

So for the layout I scissor distressed the edges  of the background paper as well as the paper strips. For the strips I cut each strip 2 inches a piece so I could fit them all perfectly on my page and to get even smooth rounded edges at the bottom of each strip I used a small cup that was the same 2 inches in size at the bottom. I butted the cups edges to the lower edge of the paper while making sure that I was leaving an even amount of paper at each side before I traced the cups round shape. EASY PEASY!

So everyone has been raving about my fancy stitch work...I wish I could take credit for the design but I actually used a Bazzil stutching template...It looks very difficult and time consuming but it's very very easy and relatively quick! I topped the stiching off with some Tiffany's bling also found in the store.

The rest is pretty basic stuff....The Authentique title you see on the border piece I actually cut out from the strip at the bottom that bears the label that you usually cut off and throw away....I liked it and thought it fit my kiddo well, so I fussy cut and added it to my layout!

The blooms are Prima of coarse and coiuld not have matched this layout any better....in fact they look like part of the collection!

Thats about it folks, I hope you enjoyed my layout, and are inspired to head on over to the Flying Unicorn Store and grab your own Authentique goodies!!!!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Scrapcake Thank You Card

Today I'm gonna share with you another DT project I've created for Flying Unicorn using Scrapcake's Cozy Xmas collection!

Beautiful isn't it!!

The Flying Unicorn Store is the ONLY store in North America where you can purchase this GORGEOUS line, so be sure and stop by the store today and check it out!

Scrapcake features double sided  patterned paper in 6"x12" in size...AMAZING for card making. My card abocve is made from a sheet of this! I fussy cut some of the delicate printed doilys that mimiced the print of the card from a 12x12 patterned paper sheet with this collection, layering them atop each other with pop dots for dimension. I also added one in the top right corner to tie the card together. I dressed up their edges using perfect pearls. The lace, ribbon and floral stickers are generic from my craft store and the pearls are from a Making Memories line. The angel is just an image I found in the Flying Unicorn forums, printed and fussy cut to add to this softness.

Here's a side view of the card so you can see how I used the pop dots to raise the doiliy prints. This seemed to add a richness to the card, and gave it an even more femme look! You may also notice that I adhered the sngel down leaving the wings loose and bent them upwards a bit to look more natural. Haha ignore the lifted pearl I fixed this issue after I saw this close up.....

I hope you've enjoyed my card and don't forget to stop by the store today to purchase your own Scrapcake collection!

First Dt layouts for Flying Unicorn

I am so honored to be sharing with you today my very first layout's I have created for Flying Unicorn using the brand new Scrapcake Cozy Xmas and Riddersholm Chantilly Dawn collections !!

If you love the papers head on over to the Flying Unicorn Online Store it's the ONLY store in the USA that carries Scrapcake and Riddersholm and one of few that carry Pion!!!!

SWEET

This is a layout of my oldest daughter, I thought the photo looked like the paper was made for it! I used the new collections by Scrapcake and Riddersholm which are both DIVINE! They are so pretty to work with and MUST HAVE'S for your paper collections! I love all the girly details in the Scrapcake line, the doily prints are the best I've seen and so delicate, works amazing to fussy cut also!

Scrapcake Cozy Xmas Collection

Riddersholm Chantilly Dawn Collection

I just fussy cut this banner from a Scrapcake page and added the pearls to dress it up a bit. YOu can also see the stutching I did around the page as well as the scissor distressing.

Here is a close up of some of the doilies in the scrapcake line I was talking about, they are just beautiful!

I layered 2 bows on each other and added a pearl to dress those up. The pink flower is Prima and the 2 red ones I made with coffee filter's, glimmer mist and Distress ink (tutorial coming soon) The stick pins are generics I found at Joanns!

Here you can see some details of the striped Scrapcake paper. You may notice that it has a distressed aging look to it, which adds to it's delicate look!

American Honey

This is another layout of my oldest daughter when she was in kindergarten, oh so long ago, lol! She's off in Jr High now, chasingthe boys, lol! I also used Scrapcake and Riddersholm here! The ttitle reads "American Honey" which is a song title by Lady Antebellum, which talks about growing up slow and right, which is the reason we area raising our children in the simple slow life of the country!

Here is a close up of the tan Riddersholm paper, the Prima blooms (I painted the teal ones with acrylic paint to match the paper) . I also added some bees to play off of the title. I painted the alphas also with acrylic paint and used distress ink to age them just a wee bit.

More details, here you can see the lace, border punch and pearls I added to the right side as well as the doily inspired journal spot and K&Co butterfly!

I hope you loved my page's, thanks for stopping!!

Growing Up Gorgeous

My daughter's love this layout and argued over who's photo was going on it, lol. I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out although I hate when you adhere layout's they sometimes end up a bit off from where you had originally placed them prior to adhereing thim.....This time my doily and photo went a little higher than expected and the title went slightly lower...but thats ok, my daughter's love it and thats all that counts right?!?!?

I was actually inspired to create this page by my fussy cut fabric flowers....I couldn't find any paper in my stash that I really loved them on and then for grins and giggles I tried green thinking it would be a bust and oh darn I'd have to buy something, lol....but when I paired the two....I FELL INSTANTLY in love with the combo....the flower just enhanced the paper and popped which is what your embellishments should do. So therefore a layout was born!

Growing Up Gorgeous

So as for the disagreement of who's photo was going on the layout it was easy for me....my middle DD, I have used my oldest on many pages lately and it was someone else turn for the spotlight!

I started with some white cardstock distressing it with the scissor method before placing some distressed blue cordinating paper and then the green G45 Once Upon A Springtime green patterned papr. I also scissor distressed this paper BEFORE I water and ink distressed. A triple threat going on there ehh.

Then I began building and layering....it started out just blues, greens and whites but in my RAK that I won from Burlap and Buttercups there was the Jillibean Soup Chicken Noodle Soup journal cards and they seemed to work well with the page so a little brown came into play!

See below for close up's and details.

Here's a close up of the lace and border punch layers along with my fabric fussy cut flower! Try mixing and matching different punches with different lace and trims for a unique look.

I just used a thin strip of white cardstock to write the title and cut each out individually and inked each one. On the the bigger word I inked the edges and then used my crimper to give them that corrigated look. I jusr laid each letter on a scrap sheet of paper and dabbed a q-tip in the ink before gently going around the edges so that I could get all the insides and smaller areas!

Here's a close up of my measuring tape ribbon, Jillibean Soup journal spot and another flower.
You may also noticed the details of the water and scissor distressing as well!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look, I love your sweet encouragment and comments.
Have a wonderful day!!!
