ScrapFIT Reveal

It's reveal day again over at ScrapFIT

This week's workout challenge is to use Pat Benetar's "Love Is A Battlefield" as inspiration

I must admit, this challenge was quite hard for me, I'm not a big fan of the song, and honestly I sat and worried what I was gonna do for this challenge because it didn't speak to me....then it hit me like a ton of bricks.....

I used the title on a layout of my oldest daughter.....whay you ask?!?! Because any of you who are raising a pre teen or teen daughter know that at times loving her can feel like a battlefield with drawn out lines. I love my pre teen  daughter very very much, and I want the very best life has to offer her and insuring this sometimes the road can be rough. But never the less I'll love her forver and always, so therefore
"Love Is A Battlefield"

Here is my take on this week's challenge

My apologies, the photo is less than perfect, I had a hard time this past week photoing my projects as the weather and natural light have been less than desirable.

This is a layout as I said above of my oldest daughter whom happens to be a pre teen. I love her more than I can express and the funny thing is for all the times she gives me a run for my money just by being a pre teen....I can truely see myself in her, lol. So that old saying that karma will pay you back for all you put your parents through is definately true....she has that eye roll thing down pat!

I used Basic Grey's "Out Of Print" collection for this page, it's a little different from my usual style, but I had fun creating it! I used the scissor method to distress and some stitching around the edges to tie it all together.

You can see some of the stitching and distress work around the edges on this close up. I also wanted to show off the pretty doily and flowers cluster. The journal spot is from Jillibean Soup's Old Mcdonald Collection.

More flowers and Jillibean cut outs here in this close up. I just noticed that my button must have slid over as well...oops I must fix that, lol.  I tried to keep the flowers the same color scheme as the striped patterned paper.

Last but not least I wanted to show you a close up of the photo that I also scissor distressed and doodled around with a white pen. I love the look of the different sized doiles tucked around the photo and embellished with flower clusters.
