I have been so busy creating DT projects most of this year, it's been so rare that I've had an ooportunity to create anything for other challenge blogs! Don't get me wrong I absolutley enjoy my DT work, but once ina while it's fun to get a chance to branch out as well! I am excited to share TWO layouts I created using the sketch provided by Burlap and Buttercups for this months challenge!
But wait folks there's a twist, you MUST include stitching!
Check out my take(s) on this sketch below!
This is a photo of my oldest daughter, she loves the camera on her! Crazy girl! The photo is just a snapshot I took at our local zoo, fortunatley it has many great places for great photos!
The tiny flowers surrounding the doily are actaully paced there to cover up a doodling disaster.....don't ask, lol! The bird cage was cut using the songbird cricut cartrdge and I just painted it gold, because I didn't have any gold paper. I found all these wonderful buttons in the clearance rack at Joanns, so I have been loving gold latley to enhance the gorgeous buttons which are working well for flower centers! I also added some pearl puff paint to enhance the cage a bit. I attached it with some pop dots and then fussy cut some flowers from a Colorbok collection and adhered them as well as the G45 fairy with pop dots also!
The banner is also cut with the cricut and I used some Tim Holtz distress ink to make it look a lil older! The pink flowers are Prima, the white ones are Studio G and the daisy's are punched using a few Marvey Uchida punches and a llil distress ink. If you look closley you can see that I also added stitching on my circle shapped pp inside my doily!
LOVE this burlap ribbon! It is amazing and the fact that it's wired is even better! You can see all the yummy distressing in this close up!
This layout also features photos of my oldest daughter, she is a total phone hog! I created this page as kind of a therapy for my own self, DH and I are discussing getting her a cel phone next summer. We had agreed a while back that we would not until she turned 16, but with changing times and all the sports she's involved in I think it may be a wise choice to do so sooner rather than later although we really don't want too. You can see here that I used the sketch and just flipped it sideways!
I createde this banner with some left over cordinating scraps, you really don't need to measure unless you want it perfect when creating these, I just eyeballed this one...it only took me llike 12 minutes to make maybe even less.....The flowers are fussy cut from a Bella Blvd. collection! Still can't wait to get that line in my LSS!
The sun and clouds are fussy cut from an old DCWV collection, works great for this page and almost looks like it is part of the Sassafrass pp collection that the circle is made from!
I love the look of mixing and matching different alphas.....although I admit I'm not very good at doing it....I haven't tried much though!
I hope you have enjoyed my pages and I love you comments!
