My Creative Scrapbook September Kit 'Cuteness' Layout

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

Today I am sharing a layout I created using
September Limited Edition Kit!

This kit is chalk full of gorgeousness and goodies from Prima Marketing and Blue Fern Studios!
I absolutely loved creating with this kit, it was so well coordinated, with high quality supplies that my layouts just came together with ease! In fact the layouts I created with this kit are probably some of my most favorite layouts I've created in quite a while.

This is a layout I created using a cute little ducky photo that just spoke to me.
I began the layout as always by distressing everything to give it that grungy textured look that I love so much!!

I like to get the absolute most from my kit's so I am in the habit of even using the packaging when available, which I have done here with the layering behind the photo. It was made from a piece of the box the kit came in, just cut done to size. I then continued the grungy theme by using a white gel pen to draw a messy layered frame around the photo. I love the look and dimension this creates, not to mention it breaks up a large uninhibited space. What I mean by that is prior to creating my frame, my phot had a large area that was just trees in the background, while it's pretty, it just looked like something was missing. The frame broke that space up, and gave the photo added dimension.

I love, love, love the chipboard that came in this kit, and it matched my photo so well!! I decided to leave it raw because it matches the wood on the dock that the ducks are standing on as well as just continues you that look of nature that I was going for with this layout. However, I did add some small splatterings of white acrylic paint to break up the solid look of the chipboard as well as to tie it into to the rest of the layout by muting it down a bit. To finish off the layout I added a cluster of fussy cut flowers from the kit.

For the title, I used the white Thicker Alpha's that came in the kit I altered them by first using a dobber and some Tim Holtz Distress Paints, then giving it some color dimension by giving it a light spray coat with the Gold Prima Color Bloom Spray that also came in the kit. This tied the colors together as well as continued the nature theme of the layout.

I used the beautiful yellow Prima Flowers from the kit as well as some yellow fussy kit flowers from the floral patterned paper, also found in the kit.

I Finished off the layout by using some green water colors beneath the phot and flower cluster as well as some paint splatterings with white acrylic paint and gold color bloom spray. I then tied everything together by giving it a quick white wash using white gesso to mute everything down and help blend it all together.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my layout and are inspired to create as well!! I love reading your feedback, so be sure to leave me a comment! If you have any questions, leave me a comment, contact me by email or you can find me on Facebook!
