I have been having so much fun participating in Once Upon A Sketch bi-monthly sketch challenges!! Nadia produces the most awesome sketches to work with!
Here is my take onthis week's sketch:
CHANGES IN 2012
This is a photo of me from about 2 weeks ago, that my 5 year old daughter took with my cel phone while killing time in the car waiting for my oldest daughetr to get out of school. What a budding photographer I've got on my hands, lol I usually hate photo's of me.....
The paper is all super old DCWV and MME collections that I thought I should use up, paired with the die cut clock paper from Bo Bunny's Timepiece collection. I simply cut the decorative ornate border off to slim it down in size. I used my usual scissor distres technique to achieve the rough tattered look around the edges
Before I go any further I must give credit to Romy Veul (Dutchy Romy) with the sharpie and faux stitch technique, this is her signature special touch and I borrowed it for a this page as well as a few others I have coming soon!
I paired Prima flowers with a few silk hydrangia's in this cluster. The darker brown blooms were actually lighter colored before I altered them with a little acrylic paint so they would fit in with my color scheme.
I used old coffee to alter the color of the doily to give it a more victorian antiqaited look. It may be hard to see but if you look real close you can see the liquid pearl dots I placed around the edge of the doily. The clock is just a piece of left over Prima packaging.
Here's is a close up of the top flower cluster and key that stands for my future. You can also see the close up details of the sharpie and faux stitch technique.
Title and journal close up. Again I coffee stained the doily and added some liquid pearl dots.
The journaling reads:
I want to make changes in my life.
(That's one of the best parts of the new year is you can do away with the old and start fresh, I am ready for a clean slate and fresh start....not major life changes just minor details I'd like to improve here and there, lol just to clarify things, lol....I love my life, but there is always room for self improvement)
Well thats about it, hope you enjoyed my page, thanks fro stopping by and taking a peek!
HAPPY SCRAPPING!
