YAY!! It's reveal day again over at
The Paper Variety
This week we have a Sketch Challenge for you!
Yay, who doesn't love a sketch?!?!
So I must admit I pondered a bit when I saw this sketch and wondered what in the world I wanted to create....Then while browsing Pinterest.com I came across this yummy sitting area.....It became the inspiration foundation for my whole layout. Isn't it inviting, I'm ready to just jump right in there and curl up with a good book and some cozy slippers!
So without further adieu here is my take on this week's sketch challenge!
This is a layout of my oldest daughter from like 5 years ago.....OMG I am getting old, lol....she has recently added insult to injury and is now wearing make up.....boy talk about tearing up for a dumb reason, lol imagine having to explain that tear fest to the husband....
Anyway I used some older MME paper and some kraft colored paper from Cordinations for this page paired with Crate Paper. I used scissor distressing to achieve that grungy tattered look as well as some border stitching around the edges in a cordinating teal color.
The flowers are a mix of Prima's and handmade. I also handcrafted the banner and added some hemp rope at each end to give a finishing touch.
I really really love how the ttitle came out.....It was originally kraft colored and I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink....but I felt like the title blended in to much and was ost on the page..... So I used Patina Glimmer Mist and a fine tipped paintbrush to give the title a more prominate makeover. I gently touched the title here and there and let it get darker in various spots to give it that antiquited look.....The ink come through just right, it turned out brilliant if I do say so so myself and I will definately be trying this again in the near future!
I left a little slot when adhereing my photo so I could slide this tag in and out which I used for journaling.
I hope you have enjoyed my page, thanks for stopping by!
