Rockin 30

Ok so some of you may know my birthday is this month....I will be errr 30....I hate the sound of that lol. But hey if you can't beat em join em so I'm gonna rock it!

Anyway I am hosting a very fun challenge in honor of this over at Flying Unicorn, come check it out and play along with us!

Here is the Layout I created as a sample for this challenge:

ROCKIN 30

I saw a layout done on a record by "More paper than shoes" and I immediately knew I wanted to make one of my own!

I had a blast creating this y'all it was rather basic and quick! I picked up the record at a thrift store for just over $1! I used some G45 paper down the center with some lace tucked behind the right side and topped it off with packaging from some Prima blooms and a journal spot from Bo Bunny's Timepiece collection. I created some blooms using coffee filters and glimmer mist. The journal spot under the photo is Anna Griffin, and the bow and button are just generic finds.....The title is just some thickers I had on hand...real easy and painless!

ScrapFIT Workout #55 Reveal

Today's challenge is to create a Christmas card or tag, yep it's almost that time! Time to start thinking about gift giving, and the yummy tags you'll place on these items and the cards that will bring joy to all your friends and family!

I've made a DEFINATE decision.....I will be making my cards this year and I will be using the Scrapcake Cozy Xmas collection to create these babies!

So without further adieu, here's my take on today's workout/the cards my friends and family will recieve

I created this card using SCRAPCAKE'S COZY XMAS COLLECTION inspired by Karola Witczak!

This is a STUNNING collection guys, a real must have for your scrap stash! The color palette is amazing, it pops but is soft at the same time. I also love the versatilty of the line, it workks well for Holiday or just regular egveryday stuff! YOu must check it out!

You may notice that I scissor distressed my card just as I do my lo's to give it that grunge look and I used pop dots to give dimension. The pearl dots you see I created with liquid pearls. I added a hint of lace peeking out to give it that shabby look I love so much!

All the little intricute pieces I fussy cut from the paper itself, along with these beautiful ornements!

Here is a fun lil gingerbread man also cut from the paper, I added liquid pearls to dress him up a bit....cute lil guy huh!

Friday Finds

Ok so I was looking through Pinterest.com the other day and came across this Volkwagon Bug....and my heart skipped a beat...y'all I'm not kidding if this was drivable or even affordable I would sooo drive this...nevermind that the husband and children hate it....it's STUNNING! A girl can dream right!?!?!?



I may not be able to own or drive this baby but I will be using it for inspiration in the VERY NEAR FUTURE!

My Boy

I wanna share another layout I created for Flying Unicorn using......

Authentique's Journey Collection!

This collection can be found in the Flying Unicorn Store along with much much more including some FABULOUS handmade goodies!

MY BOY

This is a layout of my youngest son, which is a total and complete Mama's boy! I absolutley adore this lil guys attachment to me, and wish he'd NEVER EVER grow up from this moment! He's the sweetest lil 7 year old I know!

So for the layout I scissor distressed the edges  of the background paper as well as the paper strips. For the strips I cut each strip 2 inches a piece so I could fit them all perfectly on my page and to get even smooth rounded edges at the bottom of each strip I used a small cup that was the same 2 inches in size at the bottom. I butted the cups edges to the lower edge of the paper while making sure that I was leaving an even amount of paper at each side before I traced the cups round shape. EASY PEASY!

So everyone has been raving about my fancy stitch work...I wish I could take credit for the design but I actually used a Bazzil stutching template...It looks very difficult and time consuming but it's very very easy and relatively quick! I topped the stiching off with some Tiffany's bling also found in the store.

The rest is pretty basic stuff....The Authentique title you see on the border piece I actually cut out from the strip at the bottom that bears the label that you usually cut off and throw away....I liked it and thought it fit my kiddo well, so I fussy cut and added it to my layout!

The blooms are Prima of coarse and coiuld not have matched this layout any better....in fact they look like part of the collection!
