Vintage Layout

I created this layout for the monochromatic challenge at Scrapbook.com, only cream, beige and vanilla could be used with the exception of neutrals...lucky for me included in that neutral palette was the color olive....the page wouldn't be the same without the leaves in my opinion.

The picture is of my Paternal Great Great Grandmother on my Grandmother's side....(my dads' mom's grandmother) I'm not sure what year or where any of this is...I will have to do more reseach. Unfortunately the photo was copied and a very large finger print showed up on my copy....I may have to try and snag a new one one day.
I had to use many textures and use lots of colors from the neutral palette to make this page pop, so using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress ink pad I altered a plain craft paper die cut lamp to give it some diminsion by gently using a sponges and distressing the edges and coiloring in the frame of the lamp pole. I also used the ink pad and sponge over my plain cream colored roses to give them an older vintage look. Again using the ink pad I distressed the DCVW background paper (from the luxury stack) edges and the edges of the half doily that I had painted cream colored with acrylic paint. Since there couldn't be any white in my page I dabbed the sponge on the centers of the clocks as well since they were once white inside. The clocks are from the Bo Bunny time peice collection, the largest one is from a punch out pack and the smaller ones I fussy cut. Last but not least the fence was another one I had bought raw and used acrylic and crackle paint for the vintage look. Once it dried I also attacked it with the ink soaked sponge, lol! I'm pretty happy with the results and now have a wonderful vintage family treasure to pass down to my kiddos!
